The Flower festival (Festa das Flores) is held on the last weekend of May and is characterised by the floral carpets which decorate the ground near the Santiago de Arteixo church for the religious acts celebrated there.

This event dates to the 19th C and is related to the "Daughters of Mary" who wanted to celebrate the sacrament of communion in a special way.

Nowadays the Marian association upholds the tradition by making spectacular floral carpets which never fail to surprise year after year.
